Healthy Seminars 3rd annual Integrative Fertility Symposium will be held in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The Integrative Fertility Symposium (IF Symposium)  is open to all healthcare providers with an interest in treating reproductive health issues.

The 2017 IFS has expanded its topics from reproductive health (Fertility & Pregnancy) to include paediatrics, menopause and practice management

There will be concurrent sessions Thursday to Sunday. Since you can only attend one seminar at a time you will only be able to receive a maximum of 20 CEU/PDA hours for what you actually attend during the 3 day symposium. And a maximum of 26 CEU/PDA hours if you attend all 4 days (Pre-Symposium + 3 Day Symposium).

A joint workshop with Debra Betts and Claudia Citkovitz exploring acupuncture treatment for birth preparation, medical induction, miscarriage and stillbirth and breech. This session will use clinical sketches to facilitate small group discussions about specific areas of clinical practice. Following an introduction on the topic by Claudia and Debra, participants will be divided into small groups and given different scenarios to devise treatment plans for. These scenarios will illustrate the realities of clinical practice, red flags that require special attention, and Chinese medicine considerations for clinical practice. The Shao Yin for Fertility and Pregnancy

This 6 hour class will take the participants into the clinical relevance of the Shao Yin conformation. We will begin by learning the physiology of the Shao Yin and it’s relationship with the other conformations. From here the practitioner will learn to be clear as to how to diagnose a Shao Yin patterns. This leads directly to treatment options. We will use case studies from our predecessors as well as from Sharon’s practice to illustrate the breath of use of the Shao Yin. Though we will focus on the use of Fu Zi, we will also look at ways to treat the Shao Yin with other herbs as well. The focus of the treatment examples will be related to fertility and women’s health.

This pre symposium workshop will take an in-depth view of the individual’s Ming, how to assess conflicts in its expression and how to use the Eight extraordinary meridians to liberate the jing from holding patterns at odds with the individual’s destiny. We will cover the themes imbedded in the Chong, Ren and Du Mai, and how their expression is held in the Wei, Qiao and Dai Mai. We will learn 8 extraordinary pulse diagnosis, and needling techniques for accessing the jing. We will cover in depth the five trajectories of the Chong Mai and how they relate to fertility impediments.
