Psyche and Emotions in Chinese Medicine: Acupuncture for the Treatment of the Hidden Roots of Disease - Module 2immediately after purchaseuntil 12/13/2022 - 23:59
    Presenter:

The role of emotions, as internal causes of disease, have been well known in the Chinese medical practice. Emotions having evolved from primary instincts, are human responses to the outer world, and depend primarily on individual mind-sets.

The outer world is perceived through the lens of the Shen ≈ Psyche and processed by the Luo ≈ Connecting vessels. Understanding the energetic impact of the emotions is essential in the treatment management. The treatment of psycho-emotional patterns is part of treating the “Hidden Roots of Disease”.

    Goals and Outlines

  • Function and expression of emotions
  • Individual perspectives
  • Role of the Luo vessels
  • Concept of the 5 Emotions and 7 Passions
  • Description, energetic impact, Zang-fu disharmonies and acupuncture strategies for: anger, elation, worry, anxiety, sadness, oppression, fear, shock, love and passion, jealousy, hatred, vengeance, contempt, guilt and shame
  • Diagnostic orientations
  • Personality disorders and the Luo
  • Therapeutic strategies

A View of Laboratory Analysis Through the Lens of Chinese Medicineimmediately after purchaseuntil 11/22/2022 - 23:59
    Presenter:

In this online course, Randine Lewis shares the process of learning to evaluate biomedical laboratory analysis and translate these values into an understanding of the Chinese medical energetics. While most other doctorate level Chinese Medicine “integrative” programs will cover lab analysis, there is no real integration where the practitioners remain grounded in Chinese medicine as they learn to incorporate Western medical understandings into our medicine rather than the other way around.

    Goals and Outlines
By the end of the course, participants will have:

  • An understanding of the meaning of biomedical laboratory markers
  • The ability to translate these laboratory markers into Chinese medical energetic understandings, applying the principles of Chinese medicine to address patterns of imbalance
  • An ability to apply these understandings in their treatment of patients who have concerning laboratory markers more effectively with Chinese medicine
  • Give the practitioner confidence in speaking to their patients about lab results
  • Give the practitioner confidence interfacing with biomedical practitioners
