The OBAA is happy to present our next Roundtable discussion on Postpartum anxiety and depression: Comparing classical and modern clinical approaches.

Join our guest speakers and OBAA mentors, Elisabeth Rochat de la Valée, Genevieve Le Goff and OBAA senior member Alda Ngo as we discuss how we can better understand and treat Postpartum Depression and Anxiety from both a classical perspective and with modern applications.

Description

This presentation will discuss methodological approaches to clinical research, with an examination of designs such as case study, n-of-1 study, whole system research, and patient oriented research. We will illustrate strategies to study nonpharmaceutical interventions in a pragmatic fashion with a pilot study that investigated acupuncture to treat anxiety in children and adolescents.

Emilie Salomons is a registered Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (DR. TCM) with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture of BC and has been practicing for over a decade. Emilie is a fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (ABORM), as well as a co-founder and board member of the Obstetrical Acupuncture Association (OBAA), she co-developed the first program in Canada for training midwives in Obstetrical Acupuncture for pain in labour.
