This course will examine diagnoses that often/always require allopathic intervention, including structural abnormalities, age-related infertility, POI as well as hypothalamic and pituitary issues. Detailed instruction will include what a western infertility workup consists of, how key tests are performed, and how to interpret them.  Strategies and guidelines for how and when to provide acupuncture, herbs, and supplements will be discussed.

This course will explore the connections between the immune system and infertility. Through understanding the physiology of the reproductive immune system, students will learn to identify when symptoms of immune dysregulation may be leading to infertility, which is often deemed unexplained in these cases. This course includes instruction on various aspects of immunology as they pertain to infertility and sub-fertility, including acute and chronic infection, autoimmune diseases, endometriosis and SARS -Cov2.

This course will cover the challenges facing new mothers as they transition into the postpartum shift following childbirth. From the impact of birth trauma, interventions, and c-sections, this course will delve into both the allopathic and holistic approaches to managing this tender time for new mothers and their babies. We will cover common postpartum conditions, including lactation challenges, postpartum mood disorders, pain, and recovery.

This course will cover the third trimester from 32 weeks through the labor, birth, and the immediate postpartum period.  We will learn about common third-trimester complications, including breech presentation, placental issues, low amniotic fluid index, IUGR, preeclampsia, and edema.
