This course will introduce the Chinese Medicine Practitioner to the concept of Burnout Syndrome, and to the twelve-stage burnout cycle theorized by psychologist Herbert Freudenberger and Gail North. We will examine other leading theories of Burnout syndrome and utilize scientifically accepted burnout inventory tools to best assess patients as to their level of burnout.
Attendees will examine each stage of burnout syndrome from the point-of-view of Traditional Chinese Medicine, utilizing zang-fu diagnosis, five-phase (five element) theory, and divergent meridians/luo vessels to accurately recognize, prevent, and treat patients on the Burnout spectrum.
Treatment plans will consist of acupuncture protocols, herbal formulas, mindful movement, and other mindfulness exercises that have shown to be effective in restoring qi, blood, yin, yang, jing and shen--returning vitality to patients.
