PCOS is the #1 cause of reproductive infertility worldwide. And yet, PCOS has historically been described as “too difficult to treat” by many TCM practitioners.

This course serves to demystify misconceptions surrounding PCOS. By unraveling PCOS from an etiological perspective, we will learn what PCOS is—and what it is not. We will create a new framework for approaching PCOS by first identifying the factors involved in PCOS from the Western perspective, and then overlaying those factors onto TCM pattern differentiation. This approach creates a broader understanding of PCOS—by phenotype and presenting signs and symptoms—and allows for making more precise TCM diagnoses, developing more targeted treatments, and, therefore, increased clinical efficacy.

You will come away from this course with not only a deeper understanding of the pathophysiology of PCOS, but specific TCM treatment recommendations—including acupuncture point protocols and herbal prescriptions and modifications—that reduce PCOS symptoms and lead to improved reproductive outcomes. You will also have the tools for talking with your patients about lifestyle modifications they can adopt for long-term success.
