It may only be day 3 of the Year of the Rooster, but life sure is ramping up fast. At this time of the year, our work and social calendars are overloaded, we feel pressure to live up to our New Year’s resolutions, and world events can bring on feelings of anxiety and doubt.
I am finding it helpful to think of the rooster during this time of overabundance. Traditionally, the rooster is motivated and confident; he is compelled to begin each day with vibrancy and intention. As an acupuncturist, my primary goal is to give my patients the best possible care I can provide, and while I can’t control or predict all of life’s challenges, I can choose to approach them with vibrancy and intention:
• A busy work schedule is my cue to deploy my expertise to those who need it most.
• A full social calendar exemplifies positive relationships in my life.
• Changes in world politics leave space for solidarity and hope.
Lastly, remember that New Year's resolutions indicate an innate desire to invest in yourself, even when it isn’t easy. When I’m struggling to find purpose in my days, turning back to my practice and revitalizing my skill set helps me feel more confident that I am doing what I am meant to do.
On that note, I want to help you continue to invest in your practice and your clients. I will continue to add high quality and clinically relevant content to Pro D Seminars and Medigogy.com for your learning benefit.
