Section 1: About Healthy Seminars

What is Healthy Seminars?

Healthy Seminars is a dynamic online resource for:
1.) Providing continuing education to practitioners of acupuncture, TCM and functional medicine.
2.) Providing an extensive practitioner directory to connect the public to practitioners, as well as resources that educates the public on the benefits of acupuncture and functional medicine for health and well-being.

Healthy Seminars is the result of the integration of the latest knowledge, tools, and research from Pro D Seminars and Medigogy.com.

Where are my courses from Pro D Seminars?

Courses purchased up to December 31st 2017 are on the old Pro D site now called Pro D Seminars Legacy. You can access and complete courses in your account on the legacy website.

If your course on Pro D legacy has expired or you need an extension (more time) to complete the course for CEU/PDA/CPD you can request a one year extension or reactivation. Please note that when we extend or reactivate a course from Pro d Legacy it will be transferred to your account on Healthy Seminars since Pro D Legacy will be retired on January 1, 2020.

As announced since January 2018, Pro D Legacy was retired on January 1, 2020. If you wish to re-activate your expired courses from Pro D Legacy, you can request a one-year extension or reactivation. Please note that you will do the extension/reactivation through your Healthy Seminars account.

Please remember: you must be logged in to your account in order to do this:
1 course extension ($35usd)
2 course extensions ($50 usd)
3 or more course extensions ($75 usd)

In the “Order comments” section at the bottom of the purchase page (scroll down to the bottom), please write the names of all courses you would like extended.
Once your purchase is completed, we will extend your course in your new Healthy Seminars account. Because each course is manually transferred, please allow up to 72 hours from the time your request is processed. After 72 hours, your course should be visible once you log in to your Healthy Seminars account.

Do I need to set up a new account?

If you have a Medigogy or Pro D Seminars account, you will need to create a new account here on Healthy Seminars to watch free lectures or take CEU/PDA/CPD approved online courses.

After countless consultations with our developers, it was decided that in order to build the most user friendly website with the added features included in Healthy Seminars, we could not transfer over user names and accounts from Pro D Seminars and Medigogy to Healthy Seminars.

The Pro D Seminars Legacy site will be operational until January 1st, 2020 in order to allow current users to compete courses and download certificates from courses purchased on the Pro D old site (Pro D Legacy).

You will need to set up an account on Healthy Seminars for your first order and then thereafter you log in to you account when registering for any free lectures, live webinars and on-demand courses.

Why did Healthy Seminars replace Pro D Seminars?

Practitioners can now access all the resources of Pro D Seminars and Medigogy all on one website and one user account. Pro D Seminars, under the Healthy Seminars banner, continues to provide practitioners with quality education through interactive seminars, workshops and one of the largest selection of CEU/PDA/CPD approved online courses.

Pro D technology became outdated and we wanted to provide a more user friendly site with more functionality. Plus now only one account with Healthy Seminars instead of needing two, one for Medigogy and one for Pro D.

The latest feature resulting from this integration of Pro D Seminars and Medigogy is the online Practitioner Directory. Healthy Seminars recognizes practitioners of acupuncture, TCM and functional medicine who are committed to investing in their skills through continued education and professional development. Through our searchable online Practitioner Directory, we help these committed individuals connect with the public.

What happened to Medigogy? Can I still watch seminars/webinars for free? Can I get CEUs for this?

Medigogy now exists under the Healthy Seminars banner. As such, we continue to offer free webinars and natural approaches in the areas of acupuncture, TCM, functional medicine, and practice management for practitioners and their clients. Just as before with Medigogy, there are no CEU/PDA/CPDs for free lectures and resources.

Courses with assessment tools and program evaluations offer a certificate of completion for CEU/PDA/CPD

The free resource section also offers public education that you can share to help inspire and motivate your community to choose TCM and functional medicine for their health and well-being.

To be part of our online library we prefer a minimum of 10 years experience in your field or be published in the area you want to teach.

We receive several request to teach, way more than we can respond to or take the time to have an introduction call or email discussion. If you have passion and clinical experience in the topic and experience teaching then please submit your talk proposal. Please note we will not respond to or set up meetings until we receive the details below. If you have no teaching experience or have not been in practice for 10 years or not published or do not have multiple clinical case studies to support your material then Healthy Seminars will not entertain your request to teach on our platform. It is our duty to maintain the quality of material we offer so these requirements are non negotiable. We give priority to those who organized enough to fill out the details below.

What kind of courses do you offer?

Healthy Seminars offers online courses in the form of
1.) Live webinars
2. ) On-demand recorded courses

and occasionally in-person (bum in seats) courses.

What is a Live in Person Seminar?

This is a live seminar that you attend in-person (bum in seats) to interact and collaborate with colleagues and mentors in person. You are physically present and not watching online.

No test is required for live in-person to receive your CEU/PDA/CPD certificate but you must sign in and sign out each day at the lecture room to receive your certificate of completion for attending a live event.

What is a Live Webinar?

This is a live streaming webinar event you watch on your computer or mobile device where you can interact with colleagues and presenters via text chat while you watch the live video feed. (Do not worry, no one can see or hear you, only the presenter is seen and heard.)

Immediately following the completion of a live online webinar, you also receive access to the recording of the webinar for continued review beyond the live webinar date.

You must be online during the entire live webinar and respond during attendance taking after each break to confirm you are online.

You must pass a multiple-choice quiz (70%) and complete the feedback form on the Healthy Seminars site in your account to receive your certificate of completion for CEU/PDA/CPDs.

What is an On Demand Recording?

These courses are viewable online immediately upon purchase. From the time of purchase, you will have access to your online recorded course (including downloadable handouts) for 2 years to watch as often as you’d like from any device.

The video and audio streams over the internet from Healthy Seminars to your computer / mobile device (you do not download the video on to your computer) which requires you to have a fast internet connection to watch the recording online.

Regulatory bodies require both an assessment tool and feedback form be completed for online courses to be CEU/PDA/CPD approved. You must score 70% or above on a multiple-choice quiz to pass the course and complete the feedback form on the Healthy Seminars site in your account within 2 years of your registration date to receive your certificate of completion with CEU/PDA/CPDs.

Who approves your online courses?

We apply to several regulatory bodies for our courses including: NCCAOM, California, Florida, Texas, Illinois, Massachusetts, ABORM, CTCMA (BC), AACMA (Australia) and NZRA (New Zealand) and more. Please check the specific courses you have interest taking to determine how many hours and for what types of CEU/PDA/CPD it is approved by from your regulatory body. You can also contact us if you have questions pertaining approvals.

How long do I have access to my course?

You have access to the quiz for 2 years to complete for CEU/PDA/CPD.

If you need more time you can apply for a request for a 1 year extension or even reactivate an expired course.

You also have lifetime access** to the materials (handouts and recordings) for continued reviewing and learning. So you can watch it over and over again.

** lifetime access = Course materials remain in your account beyond the 2 years as long as we can continue to support the recordings with future technology.

So you have 2 years to complete for CEU/PDA/CPD and can apply for a one year extension if needed.

And you have lifetime access to the videos and handouts as long as we can continue to support the recordings with future technology.

Why do I have to take a quiz?

The quiz and feedback form are required by regulatory boards. We use an automated system so certificates are generated only after passing (70%) and filling out feedback form. If you do not need CEU/PDA's or care for a certificate and just want the knowledge then you can skip the quiz and evaluation and just watch the course.

In order for Healthy Seminars to offer online CEU/PDA/CPD we must comply with regulatory boards and licensing bodies which require you complete assessment tools and program evaluations to receive your certificate of completion.

To receive your Certificate:
- Fill out the 5 short answer question worksheet;
- Complete the quiz (the quiz is open book and can be answered easily from looking at the handouts and watching the course. Pass is 70% and you have two attempts to pass the quiz. If you need a 3rd attempt, you can email us);
- Fill out the feedback form/program evaluation;
- Download and Print your certificate.

When is the course ‘dated’ for CEU credit? Is it after I take the quiz for the course?

Any Recorded On Demand Courss

Recorded courses certificate are dated for the date that you passed the quiz. The certificate will not be generated in your account until you complete the program evaluation. But the date will be the quiz date.

Any Live Webinars

For live webinars the certificate date is the date of the live webinar and not the date you complete the quiz. So if you take the quiz 3 months after watching the live stream the date will still be the date you watched the live webinar and not the quiz date.

Please Note!
If you register for an upcoming live webinar (to save on early bird discounts) but miss the live stream and watch the recording afterwards, then it is treated as a recorded course. Your certificate date, will be the date you complete the quiz if you were not present during the live stream. If you present during live stream it will be the live webinar date.

I completed my quiz but don’t know which one(s) I got wrong. How can I get the correct answers for studying?

We cannot give you the answers to the quiz as it is an assessment tool required by the regulatory bodies to prevent people from just "buying CEU/PDAs" online without watching and grasping the material taught.

So we do not provide the answers. Similar to how acupuncture licensing bodies do not provide answers to their exam. However, if we find a quiz is receiving fails or there are several complaints about a question we will ask the speaker to review the question and if warranted to change it.

Although they are a great study tool, we cannot provide an answer key.

If you have not passed after two attempts then email us and we will offer you some support before giving you a third attempt at the quiz.

Section 3: Taking a Course

What steps are necessary to complete a Healthy Seminars Course

All of our paid courses require the completion of the following steps in order for you to receive your CEU/PDA/CPD certificate of completion. These steps conform to regulatory bodies requirements for distance continuing education.

Each course has 5 steps.

  1. Watch the course.
  2. Fill out the 5 short answer question worksheet
  3. Complete the quiz. Pass is 70%. You have two attempts to pass quiz. Remember it is open book.
  4. Fill out the program evaluation.
  5. Download and Print your certificate

 

Please follow these steps and look at visual aid videos below, if needed:

  1. Login to your account and click on the "my account" orange/yellow box at the top right side. https://www.healthyseminars.com/user?current=node
  2. Click the course - such as the orange box that says "on-demand"
  3. Click on "take course"
  4. Click on the links for instructions, handouts and videos
  5. Once you have watched all the videos and have completed the worksheet, only then can you take the quiz.
  6. Once you pass the quiz, you will fill out the course evaluation and this generates your certificate in your account.
  7. Click on claim your Healthy Seminars certificate.

 

 

 

 

 

Can I download the course to my computer?

Courses are streamed online. You need a good (fast and steady) internet connection.

They are not sent to you or available for download.

Are Video Courses Mobile Friendly?

All of Healthy Seminars video courses are mobile and computer friendly.

Video courses support Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Opera, and Internet Explorer. Whichever browser you prefer, please use the most up-to-date version available to ensure that everything on the site works smoothly.

What are Video Courses?

Healthy Seminars video courses are pre-recorded online courses that can be played back on demand (similar to youtube videos). Healthy Seminars video courses include on screen both a powerpoint like slide and the presenter giving the lecture.

Healthy Seminars videos course can played back online as many times as you wish, at any time of the day.

I am having trouble printing my slides

Most Healthy Seminars courses come with PDF format slides.

You will see the handouts in your course before the video section. Click the slides you wish to open. Depending on your computer and browsers either they will open or ask you to download them. All of our slides are in PDF format and may be printed.

If this does not work, then your computer is likely blocking the slides/notes popup window. Healthy Seminars cannot do anything on our end. It is related to your computer security. Please choose to allow popups. (This may be part of your firewall, anti-virus or browser settings depending your system).

For the MAC issuesCourse notes and slides are now also attached to each course page. The notes and slides inside the player and on the course page are the same.

Section 4: My Account (Student Hub)

How do I get a new password?

To receive a new password, please apply for one using the password reset system by clicking here. In order to receive a new password you must know the email address that you signed up with.

Once you have request a new password, it will automatically be sent to your email inbox.

If you did not receive your new password, please check your spam / filtered email inbox before contacting Healthy Seminars.

How do I change my password?

Any user can change their own password by following these easy steps:

  1. Visit "My Account" on the top right corner.
  2. Click the "Settings" button, on the sidebar menu under “Account”
  3. Click “Edit”
  4. Enter your new password
  5. Enter your password a second time to confirm
  6. Click the "Save" button at the bottom
Where do I find my certificate?

To find your certificate, please visit "My Account" and then choose the button "Certificates".

If you cannot find your certificate here, you likely did not finish either you program worksheet, quiz or course feedback. All three steps are necessary to receive your certificate as required by regulatory bodies.

From "Student Hub" please click the button "Quiz Results" to see if you finished and passed your quiz. If so, do your course evaluation now.

If you have not finished your quiz, from "Student Hub", click the course page link. From inside the course page, click on the quiz link to begin the quiz.

Section 5: CEU/PDA/CPD Information

I want to register and watch my course now, but I do not need my hours for renewal until next year

You can register and watch and learn from the course now. You have 2 years form the date of registration to complete for CEU/PDA/CPD.

The date on your certificate for recorded courses is the date you pass the quiz. So take the quiz during the reporting period that you need the hours. Again, the quiz triggers the date on your certificate of recorded courses.

The certificate will be generated and stored in your account once you complete the feedback (program evaluation) form.

You can watch the course now and complete the worksheet. It is the quiz the triggers the date on your certificate and the feedback form that triggers your certificate to be generated in your account

For live webinars that you attend it, the webinar date and not the quiz date that is on your certificate. So if you attend a live webinar online then the date on your certificate the stream date regardless when you do the quiz.

Where do I find the NCCAOM PDA details for this course?

To find out which type of NCCAOM PDAs you can receive under the new NCCAOM category system, please do the following:

  1. Browse to the product page of the course you would like to buy.
  2. On the product page, please click the link "Approved By" to see the details for NCCAOM as well as the other regulatory bodies' approval breakdowns
Why aren't all courses ABORM certified?

The ABORM has two categories of approvals which we can apply.

One is ABORM exam and the other is ABORM CEU Renewal

ABORM exam pre-requisite courses are only related to male and female fertility. These can be used to fulfill the 45 hours of CEU required to sit the ABORM Exam.

ABORM Renewal includes reproductive health topics which includes menopause, pregnancy, general gynaecology and Men's health as well as fertility. These courses can be used to fulfill the 20 hours needed to renew your ABORM Fellow Certificate.

How do I print my order invoice?

You may print an order invoice (or copy and paste) from your user account on Healthy Seminars after a purchase. (Please note: a copy of your invoice will also be emailed to you using the email address you supplied during purchase).
To print a copy of your order invoice:

  1. Sign into your Healthy Seminars account
  2. Go to My Account
  3. Choose "Account" from the left hand green box menu
  4. Choose "Orders" from the submenu
  5. Click on the order number your wish to view
  6. Click "Print Invoice" from the bottom of the order
  7. (Optional) copy and paste your order invoice as necessary
Where can I find my receipt of payment?

After checking out of the Healthy Seminars online store, your invoice is automatically emailed to you. Please save a copy of this for future use.

You can also find a copy on your "My Profile" page, and then clicking the "Orders" tab at the top of the page.

I registered and paid for an online seminar but found that the topic was not what I expected. Do you offer refunds?

For recorded online courses we do not provide refunds or exchanges.

Please be accountable and responsible. Before you purchase a course please read description, outline and speaker bio. We also provide you a free preview for recorded on demand courses as well as feedback on the course from your colleagues who already have completed the course.

It is not possible that everyone will have the same taste and like every course. If a course receives lots of poor feedback we retire it. We will not refund or exchange a course just because you did not like it.

No refunds.

No cancellation refunds on recorded online courses. We offer you, before purchasing course(s), the opportunity to watch the free preview and read comments by others who have taken the course on the same page to help prevent buyers remorse. Please watch preview and read feedback before registering for your course(s)

The fine print:

All on demand online courses have a 2-year time limit to be completed for CEU/PDA/CPDs. You have unlimited, lifetime* access to your recorded course materials for reference and reviewing purposes. But only two years to access assessment tools required to be complete to receive your certificate of completion for continuing education credits

Regulatory bodies require you pass (70%) the assessment tool (quiz) and complete the feedback form to receive your certificate of completion and CEU's/PDA's for distant leaning on demand and live webinars. Your certificate will be generated in your account automatically for you to download and print after you pass the quiz and complete the feedback form online in your account.

(2.) Live Webinar and in person seminars

1. There is a minimum $50 administration fee to withdraw from Live webinars and seminars

2. Cancellation between 14 to 21 days prior to the seminar date, the greater of 50% of the registration fee or $50 will be deducted from your refund.

3. No refund if cancel less than 14 days prior to seminar date.

You also receive access to the recording when you register for a live webinar. You have unlimited, lifetime* access to your recorded course materials following the live webinar for reference and reviewing purposes.

* Unlimited, lifetime access is access to the course videos and handouts as long as the technology is still available and supported by Healthy Seminars.

Are all fees US Dollars (USD)?

Yes.

All of our courses are listed and charged in United States Dollars (USD).

Your bank or credit card company will then convert it to your currency on your statement based on the exchange rate at the time.

If you are using a US credit card then no exchange rates will be applied by your bank as all fees are charged in USD.

Please note: Healthy Seminars does charge a foreign exchange fee or other service charges. We only charge the course fee in USD.

If you are using a Canadian credit card and/or address then there will be an additional 5% GST added to your registration fee on final check out. This applies only to Canadians.

But for some reason the majority of users have always been from outside of Canada and the most common question we were asked was how much is this in my currency. Since over 80% of our users are Americans and less then 10% are Canadians we chose to use the US currency. The US currency is a benchmark worldwide so understood by most outside of the US as well. And we are no longer are asked the question how much is this in my currency since changing to US currency in 2009.

What currency does your store use?

Can I get a discount if I don’t want CEU/PDA/CPDs?

We treat you equally so we do not offer discounts for customers who don't want or do not require continuing education credits (CEU/PDA/CPDs)

However, for those who don't want or need continuing education credits, you can still purchase, watch and enjoy your course for the love of learning.

Remember, when you invest in yourself, others will invest in you for their health and wellbeing regardless if you received CEU/PDA/CPDs.

How does your checkout system work?

Security
Our store uses an on-site checkout page (you don't need to leave our site to pay). Once you reach the checkout page, in order to protect your credit card numbers, site encryption begins automatically. (You can see that the encryption is working by looking at the address changing from http:// to https://. The "s" stands for secure). Many browsers will also show a lock image somewhere on the browser.

From that point our store uses a PayPal Pro capture method (this is all behind the scenes, so you won't see it). We find this is the most secure way to accept credit card payments on the internet at the moment. You do not need a PayPal account to buy something.

We accept Visa Card and Master Card on-site.
If you would like to use Paypal, Discover, Amex, sCheck, please choose the PayPal option during checkout and enter your card details directly on the Paypal website. Once you have completed payment, you will be re-directed back to Healthy Seminars.

If you are a first time Customer
On the checkout page, you will be asked to create a username, password and enter a valid email address. Please do not forget to do this. Your account is linked to your email address. (In the future, you can use either your email address or username to sign in).

If you are a returning Customer
Please make sure to login (sign into your account) before making your purchase. This way your new course(s) will be added to your existing account. Having multiple accounts can make it more difficult to collect CEU's and see your past purchase history. Even if you are buying live seminars, don't forget this step, as sometimes we give away freebies online with different purchases.

Do you need Paypal to make purchases?

You do not need a PayPal account to make purchases.

We accept Visa Card and Master Card on-site.

If you would like to use PayPal , Discover, Amex, or eCheck, please choose the Paypal option during checkout. PayPal has an option to choose other credit cards and not needing to use a PayPal account. Enter your card details directly on the PayPal website as they process all our transactions.
